Wildlands Conservancy announces May events

The Wildlands Conservancy’s Community and Educational Events for May have been announced.

Most of the events are offered to the public free of charge; others at a low fee.

May 9: Wildlands Conservancy: Dr. Doug Tallamy - Nature’s Best Hope 7 to 9 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, 3232 Tilghman St., Allentown. Tallamy, a professor and chair of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware, will talk about simple ways that we can enhance biodiversity in our own backyards.

May 14: Wildlands Conservancy: Spring Wild Edibles at Trexler Nature Preserve 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Trexler Environmental Center, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville. Discover ground covers, spring flowers, invasive species, and trees that are edible. We’ll enjoy some wild tea and dip post-walk. There is no charge, but preregistration is required.
