Weatherly High School junior Arlene Connors has been granted a full scholarship to attend the 2018 Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week hosted by Lycoming College of Technology in Williamsport.

Arlene is the daughter of Thomas and Michele Connors, of Weatherly.

Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week is a weeklong economic education program that offers students an inside look at the private enterprise system and the way the free market functions.

Arlene will attend the second week of sessions offered this summer on the campus of Lycoming College. Her admission was based on her motivation to learn, which was demonstrated through a written essay. She was awarded a full scholarship, which covers all program costs.

Arlene and her peers will form mock companies to compete against one another in a college-level simulation. Business volunteers will also serve as advisers, mentoring students in the program.

Standard seminars will also be a part of the curriculum at the event.
