The East End Fire Company, Tamaqua, held its 56th anniversary banquet on Sunday, honoring two long-serving members, one posthumously.

Edward “Ted” DeLay, who died in November 1971, will be remembered with a dedication plaque in his memory on the company’s American LaFrance pumper truck. DeLay served the company in various capacities, including trustee and chief engineer of the engine room, and was remembered for his tireless work for it.

William Kubilus, who joined the company in 1934, was also honored for his longtime service to the company. He is a current trustee there.
