Fern Ridge state police report on crashes

State police at Fern Ridge report on the following crashes:

• Judith L. Paynter, 76, of Albrightsville, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 8:35 a.m. April 18 on Route 534 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said she sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono, East Stroudsburg.

Police said she was driving a 2022 Honda Accord southbound when she lost control on a curve in the road. It traveled off the right side of the road and landed in a ditch. The car sustained minor damages.

• Leadell Burpo, 18, of Brodheadsville, was cited with failure to drive at a safe speed following a one-vehicle crash at 3:32 p.m. April 12 on Hillcrest Drive in Chestnuthill Township. He was not injured.

Police said he was driving a 2006 Hyundai Elantra south when he lost control on a curve. The car crossed into the oncoming lane, left the roadway and struck a mailbox and utility pole.

It sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

• Two vehicles had minor damages in a crash at 8:26 a.m. April 14 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado driven by Toby R. Sander, 24, of Bowmanstown, and a 2018 Lexus operated by Jaquasa S. Thurmond, 33, of Stroudsburg, were northbound when the Colorado rear-ended the Lexus. Police said both vehicles then ran over a low-to-the-ground wooden fence on the right shoulder of the road. The vehicles were towed from the scene. No one was injured.

• Two vehicles were towed from the scene of a crash at 1:51 p.m. April 16 on Route 534, near the intersection with Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.

Police said a 2011 Honda CRV driven by a 17-year-old girl from Hatboro struck the driver’s side door of a 2017 Toyota Sienna driven by Yaakov Bruckenstein, 37, of Chicago, Illinois, as the Sienna was attempting to turn left into a gas station.

No one was injured.

• A two-vehicle crash happened at 4:31 p.m. April 14 at the intersection of Route 115 and Rocky Mountain Drive in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said a 2015 Hyundai Veloster driven by Johnny J. Greene II, 20, of East Stroudsburg, struck a 2014 Harley-Davidson driven by Skyler D. Milheim, 45, of Effort.

Police said Greene was cited for a stop/yield sign violation and Milheim was cited for a registration and certificate of title required for the cycle. No one was injured.
