Ron Solt was named Citizen of the Year when the Franklin Township Lions Club held its 13th annual charter night celebration on Saturday night.

Solt, who accepted his award from Jim Ziegenfuss, chairmen of the charter night committee, has served five consecutive six-year terms on the Franklin Township board of supervisors and never missed a meeting in those 30 years.

In addition to honoring Solt, the club named Richard Schirer as the Lion of the Year and Art Berger, club president, was presented the Melvin Jones Fellow award, the highest award in Lionism.
