Drug Take Back Day
The Tamaqua Police Dept. will participate in National Prescription Take Back Day Chief Michael Hobbs announced.
People can drop off their expired and no longer needed medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the police department.
Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on April 13 with 24 members in attendance. President Mary Bittle opened the meeting with the reading “Dear Lord.”
An indoor picnic is being planned for Aug. 10 at the Complex.
The group meets at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.
Calvary Lewistown
Rev. Keith McCarthy will offer the message at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical Church, Lewistown Valley. There will also be special music. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. and evening service at 6:30 p.m. with Wendell J. Heisler sharing the word.
Prayer and share is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Apr. 26.
Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Zion Men will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday, in Memorial Hall. Women’s Bible study meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday evenings in Memorial Hall.
Rush-Ryan Seniors
The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met on April 11 with 32 members in attendance. Members on the sick list include: Jayne McLaughlin, Lucille Spaar, Ruth Betz, Roberta Hollenbach.
April birthdays being celebrated include: Brenda Zeller and Gladys Arner. Nancy Godanis donated lottery tickets and Gloria Gerhard donated two cakes. All were raffled off with Fred herb winning the lottery tickets and Pat Tracey and Elaine Truskey winning cakes.
The group meets at 1 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at White Church, Barnesville. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.
