Track & Field Roundup: Results from April 18

Palmerton’s boys and girls each recorded a pair of Colonial League victories on Tuesday.

Elsewhere, the Northern Lehigh girls also posted a sweep.

TRACK AND FIELD

Palisades-Saucon Vy.- Palmerton

Palmerton swept Saucon Valley and Palisades in a Colonial League contest.

The Bombers stayed unbeaten with a 126-24 victory over Saucon Valley, and a 97-53 win over host Palisades in the boys meet to move to 7-0. Palmerton posted wins over both the Panthers (107-43) and the Pirates (92-58) in the girls meet to improve to 6-1.

Palmerton will host Southern Lehigh next week. The Spartan boys and girls are both 7-0.

Nataly Walters won the 100, along with the long and triple jump for the Bomber girls. Jessica Heydt also won the shot put and discus.

Dylan Hartranft (400), Justin Herrmann (100H), Bryson Walters (300H), Ryan Burkett (discus), and brothers Zack Anthony (shot put) and Logan Anthony (javelin) all had victories for the Palmerton girls.

Northwestern-Bangor- Southern Lehigh

The Northwestern boys and girls split with Bangor and Southern Lehigh in a Colonial League meet.

The Tigers posted wins over Bangor in both the boys and girls meets, but both suffered setbacks against unbeaten Southern Lehigh, which moved to 7-0 for both the boys and girls.

The loss was the first for the Northwestern girls, now 6-1 overall.

Faith Yost (long jump, high jump) and Sadie Fenstermaker (shot put, discus) each had a pair of wins for the Tigers in the girls meet.

Samuel Bower (800) and Matthew Santana (1600) ran to wins in the boys meet for Northwestern.

Catasauqua-Salisbury- Northern Lehigh

The Northern Lehigh girls picked up a pair of wins in a Colonial League meet against Catasauqua and Salisbury.

The Bulldogs earned wins over both the Falcons (104-31) and the Roughies (79-62).

In the boys meet, the Northern Lehigh boys secured an 80-55 win over Salisbury, but suffered a 71-69 setback to Catasauqua.

Katelynn Barthold (400, long jump), Evelina Mayak (100H, triple jump) and Caitlin Kirk (shot put, discus) all had a pair of wins for the Bulldogs in the girls meet.

Nick Frame (long jump, javelin) and Izaiah Ramos (triple jump, high jump) also added a pair of wins for Northern Lehigh in the boys contest.
