A homeless woman has pleaded guilty to criminal mischief after police said she broke into the residence of a disabled homeowner.
State Police at the Lehighton barracks were called at 7:06 p.m. April 3, to a home in the 400 block of West Patterson Street for a woman trying to enter the residence of a disabled homeowner.
Police found Nicole Arabac, 40, who was hiding behind a garbage can along the side of the residence.
Police said Arabaci was mumbling and her pupils appeared to be dilated. She resisted arrest and attempted to kick troopers.
A man told police he had let Arabaci stay the night of April 2 due to her being homeless, but requested Arabaci to leave the residence on April 3.
Arabaci left the residence and returned hours later and broke the front residence window. The man’s caregiver contacted 911.
The caregiver said Arabaci had trashed the residence before her arrival, and the front window was shattered, as well as a hole in the basement door.
Another victim told police she was sleeping when Arabaci had shut the door behind her and placed furniture in front of the door, restraining her from eating and drinking for about 45 minutes to an hour.
She sad she needs to eat and drink due to being diabetic, and that she suffers from multiple sclerosis and had her left foot amputated about one month ago. She said that she eventually pushed the door enough to slip through and crawl her way back upstairs to her room.
Arabaci was transported to PSP Lehighton where she was charged with recklessly endangering another person, false imprisonment, criminal mischief, obstruct administrative law/other government functions, and public drunkenness and similar misconduct. All charges but criminal mischief were withdrawn.
