Palmerton’s Carly Gaffney pitched a perfect game on Monday, leading the Blue Bombers past Saucon Valley.
Marian’s Morgan Kelly, meanwhile, pitched a three-inning no-hitter against Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech.
Elsewhere, Lehighton posted wins in both baseball and softball.
SOFTBALL
Palmerton-Saucon Valley
Carley Gaffney pitched a perfect game to lead Palmerton to a 3-0 Colonial League victory over Saucon Valley.
Of the 21 consecutive outs Gaffney recorded, 17 of them were strikeouts.
Megan Matsko and Kelsey Balliet both had RBIs for the Blue Bombers, while Sydney Frantz had a hit and a run.
Gaffney outdueled the Panthers’ Marty Seyfried, who allowed just three hits and fanned 15.
Palmerton improved to 5-4 overall and 4-3 in the league, while Saucon dropped to 3-4.

CMVT-Marian
Marian’s Morgan Kelly pitched a three-inning no-hitter as the Fillies rolled to an 18-0 non-league win over Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech.
Kelly allowed a first-inning walk and also hit a batter in the frame, but got three strikeouts to get out of the jam. Kelly also struck out the side in the second and third, finishing with nine punch outs.
Jackie Guth had two hits, scored two runs, knocked in a pair and walked twice to lead Marian offensively. Gracie Gallagher added a hit and two RBIs, while Malina Letcher also finished with two RBIs.
The victory keeps the Fillies perfect at 6-0, while CMVT fell to 0-4.

Lehighton-EEA
Lehighton cruised past Executive Eduction Academy, 16-1, in a non-league contest.
Addison Chavanic and Marlee Craig both had two hits for the Indians, who used a nine-run third inning to seal the victory. Chavanic also scored twice and had two RBIs, while Craig - the game’s winning pitcher - had two runs and an RBI.
The winners also received a triple, three runs and two RBIs from Amy Dwojewski. Anna Laible added a hit, three runs, and an RBI, with Maggie Pagotto contributing a hit, two runs and an RBI.
The win lifted Lehighton to 3-5, while the Raptors now stand at 1-6.

Northwestern-Palisades
Northwestern suffered its first loss of the season, as Palisades earned a 2-1 victory in a battle of Colonial League front-runners.
The two teams were scoreless through five innings before the Tigers pushed across a run in the top of the sixth. The Pirates responded with two runs in the home half to pull out the win.
Winning pitcher Karlye Teman allowed five hits and struck out 11, outdueling Northwestern’s Emily Freeman, who gave up just four hits and fanned six.
The Tigers’ Sage Toman finished with two hits, while Rylee McGinley scored her team’s only run. Palisades received a pair of hits from Brooklyn Lucas.
The Tigers are now 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the league, while the Pirates moved to 6-1 and 4-1.

Shaun O’Donnell had a strong pitching effort to help Northwestern even its record with a 5-4 Colonial League victory over Palisades.
O’Donnell tossed six innings, allowing four hits and two unearned runs while striking out nine.
Chase Moyer collected two hits - both doubles - and scored a pair of runs. Josh Farber also finished with two hits and knocked in a run, while Robert Croneberger added a double and a run.
The Tigers are now 5-5 overall and 4-4 in the league. The Pirates fell to 3-4.

Palmerton-Saucon Valley
Palmerton jumped out to an early lead, but it was short-lived as Saucon Valley pulled away for a 13-3 Colonial League victory.
Trey Sterling’s RBI single, along with runs scored by Sterling and Cole Serfass, gave the Blue Bombers a 3-0 first-inning advantage. That, however, was all the scoring Palmerton would muster in falling to 6-2 overall and 4-2 in the league.
The Panthers, who scored in every inning, received five hits - two of them doubles - and three RBIs from Charlie Hubert. Richie Viscito also added three hits and three runs.
For the Bombers, Sterling, Serfass and Daniel Lucykanish all finished with two hits.
The win upped Saucon to 5-1.

Noah Barndt had a big day at the plate as Lehighton cruised to a 12-0 non-league victory over Executive Education Academy.
Barndt finished 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBIs and a stolen base. The Indians also received a pair of hits, two RBIs and a steal from Austin Greene.
Connor Birnbaum, who threw four shutout innings and struck out seven, added two hits, two walks and an RBI.
Lehighton improved to 6-3, while the Raptors dropped to 4-2.

The Blue Bombers received straight-set singles wins from Justin Sebelin and Riley Fallon.
The loss dropped Palmerton to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in the league, while the Falcons are now 6-4 and 4-2.
