Jimmy Woodby, 28, of Lehighton, was charged by state police at Fern Ridge with attempting to purchase a gun at 2:09 p.m. April 4 at a licensed establishment dealing with new and used firearms.

Police said they were called to 2615 Route 903 where they were told Woodby completed the state and federal applications/records of sale paperwork, which include a warning and verification that all statements contained in the documents are true and correct.

He was denied the sale.
