State police at Frackville report on the following incidents:
• A 36-year-old Barnesville woman was cited for harassment by state police after they responded to a domestic incident at 7:10 p.m. March 21.
Police said they were summoned to a property on Oak Street in Ryan Township. The victim is a 37-year-old man from Barnesville.
• An 88-year-old woman from New Ringgold is the victim of a theft by deception case on March 22.
A resident of Hickory Lane in East Brunswick Township told police between 1 p.m. March 20 and 11:01 a.m. March 22, she was “scammed” out of $900.
The woman told police she was contacted by someone who claimed to be from the Publisher’s Clearing House, advising her she won a prize but would have to pay the tax on it.
The woman reported she provided the person with two prepaid Visa cards, valued at $400 and $500, respectively.
• Police were summoned to investigate a theft by deception case in which a 45-year-old New Ringgold man is the victim.
Police said they were called to a property on east Railroad Avenue in New Ringgold where the victim told them someone used his personal information in an attempt to open a bank account with KeyBank. Police said when the man received a letter from the bank, he contacted them and was informed the account was already closed by bank personnel who believed the incident was a case of fraud.
