State police at Lehighton - DUI/drugs

State police at the Lehighton barracks report on the following incidents:

• The driver of a vehicle that crashed at 11:30 a.m. March 19 at the intersection of Route 534 and Queen’s Way in Polk Township is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police said the charges are pending after they saw signs of impairment on the driver who was operating a 2005 Honda when it crashed near Scenic Drive in the township.

• David Kroculick, 59, of Jim Thorpe, is facing drug possession charges after a traffic stop at 9:06 p.m. March 21 at the intersection of Route 903 and Smith Road in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was driving a 2014 Honda Accord when he was stopped for a vehicle code violation, after which time police found him to be in possession of suspected heroin/fentanyl.

• A 35-year-old woman from West Chester is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop at 8:22 p.m. March 29.

Police said they stopped the woman for a traffic violation while she was driving a 2018 Cadillac at the intersection of Serfass Road and Aspen Lane in Polk Township. Police discovered her to be in an impaired state.

• A 27-year-old Weissport woman is facing drug possession charges filed against her by state police at Lehighton.

Police said they were called at 11:14 a.m. March 17 to Bridge Street in Weissport and found the woman in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

A 2008 Chrysler Pacifica was involved in the incident.
