Sen. Fred Hobbs, in thanking the mayor and people of Coaldale for naming him an honorary citizen in appreciation of assistance during the past two years, said that Schuylkill County’s first housing in Coaldale was due in great measure to the hard efforts of Coaldale’s public officials.

In his letter to Mayor Joseph Sharpe, the 35-year-old senator thanked the people of Coaldale for supporting programs which are vital to the future of the Panther Valley.
