April 1, 1972 - Brian Metzger pitches six shutout innings to lead Lehighton to a 3-1 victory over Tamaqua. The senior southpaw tosses no-hit ball for five innings before allowing a couple hits in the sixth. Metzger walks two and strikes out seven. The Indians, coached by Wilson Rehrig, snap a scoreless tie in the third when Keith Haydt delivers a two-run double that plates Mark Hoffman and Lance Barry, who both walked. Haydt knocks in another run in the fifth when an error and a double by Barry sets up his RBI fielder’s choice grounder.
