State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating a forgery case that happened between July 31 and Aug. 25 in Deer Lake.

The victim is Buster Branham, 80, of 113 Maple Blvd in the borough.Police said someone stole three checks from the man's home, two of which were allegedly forged and cashed.The victim is out $5,200.
