State police at Fern Ridge are investigating the theft of about 30 feet of four-gauge braided copper wire from a site in East Side Borough.

Police said they were summoned at 12:14 a.m. March 2 to the Breezeline Power Station at the intersection of Route 534 and Mountain Laurel Drive after it was discovered someone cut a hole in the fence surrounding the station and stole the wire valued at about $100.

The victim is the Breezeline Internet Service of Altoona.
