A Palmerton woman was injured Sunday morning when involved in a crash along Route 248 in Lower Towamensing township. The crash occurred just after 6:30 a.m. as she was traveling east bound just pass the intersection with Club road.

Her car apparently drifted to the left striking the end portion of a Jersey barrier. The unit then bounced to the right crossing the two east bound lanes climbing a steep earth embankment then rolling back down to the roadway.

The victim was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics then tranasported to an area trauma center suffering facial injuries. Responding and maintaining traffic control was the Aquashicola Fire Company. State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
