Nesquehoning police are investigating a robbery that occurred on Jan. 17.
Police said shortly before 8 p.m., Officer Robert Blisard was dispatched to 355 E. Catawissa St., for a theft of a cellphone.In a follow-up Officer Carl Breiner determined that two girls, ages 12 and 13, were walking home at Center and Oak streets when six males approached them. Four of the males had their faces covered with bandannas and pulled guns out and ordered the girls to give them their "stuff."One of the suspects ripped an iPhone 5 out of the 12-year-old's hand. The suspects ran from the scene.Chief Sean Smith and Officer Timothy Wuttke are handling the investigation. This case is being classified as a armed robbery, police said.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call police at 570-669-9111.
