More than 200 persons attended a testimonial dinner honoring the Rev. Byron R. Stauffer, retired pastor of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Weatherly, on Saturday in the middle school.’

Rev. Stauffer has served more than two congregations of service to God and mankind. He completed his active ministry on Dec. 31, 1974.

A native of Ringtown, he was hailed by the Rev. Donald J. Stump, pastor of Salem United Church of Christ and St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, both of Weatherly, for his “helpfulness, humility, sincerity, thoughtfulness, thoroughness, theological insight and compassion.”
