Adriana Day and Harmony Berk, students at Jim Thorpe High School, are raising funds for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on their own. It’s not a school or other organization’s event - it’s something they wanted to do.
“We are doing it to give back to the community and do something good,” Day said. “I just thought it (St. Jude’s) was a good hospital. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.”
The basket auction, held at Jim Thorpe High School, featured 59 baskets and gift cards donated by area people and businesses. Their ultimate goal is to raise $5,000 for St. Jude’s.
“We had a bake sale, and this is our basket auction,” Day said.” We are going to plan a few more events.”

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital provides medical care for children, and families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food. The hospital was founded by actor Danny Thomas.
