Palmerton man unhurt after car strikes bear

Edward A. Anglemyer, 46, of Palmerton, escaped injury in a one-vehicle incident that happened at 5:13 a.m. Feb. 14 on Route 209 on Hamilton Township.

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks said he was driving a 2013 Dodge Dart northbound when it struck a bear that had jumped over the traffic barrier on the west side of the road.

After impact, the car traveled onto the shoulder of the road. It sustained disabling damages and needed to be towed from the scene.
