Schuylkill County probation
Schuylkill County judges recently sentenced people charged by local police to probation.
Travis David Colt, 24, of New Ringgold, was charged by West Penn Township Police Officer John C. Kaczmarczyk with criminal mischief and two counts of simple assault on Sept. 2, 2022.
Judge Christina E. Hale sentenced him to pay a total of $200 in fees and to serve 24 months on probation. Colt also must submit a DNA sample and pay the $250 fee, and obtain mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations.
Jason Michael Rivera, 21, of Staten Island, New York, was charged by Tuscarora State Park Ranger James Subic with escape and theft of services on April 22, 2018.
He pleaded guilty to the charge of theft of services.
Judge Christopher Hobbs sentenced Rivera to pay $50 restitution to Tuscarora State Park; submit a DNA sample and pay the $250 fee; pay a total of $200 in fees and to serve 12 months on probation.
The escape charge was dropped.
In a second case, Rivera was charged by Tamaqua Police Officer Thomas C. Rodgers with theft by deception and receiving stolen property on July 13, 2018.
Judge Hobbs sentenced Rivera to pay $945.03 in restitution to First National Bank; submit a DNA sample and pay the $250 fee; pay a total of $200 in other fees and to serve 12 months on probation.
Jennifer Veronica Hurley, 29, of Allentown, was charged by West Penn Township Police Officer Thomas H. Xavios with unauthorized use motor/other vehicles on July 10, 2022.
Judge Hale sentenced her to pay a total of $200 in fees; pay $2,500 in restitution to the victim; and to serve 24 months on probation.
Christina L. Chapman, 28, of Mont Clare, Montgomery County, was charged by Tamaqua Police Officer Christopher J. Cordes with possession of marijuana, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, improper display of a license plate, and operating a vehicle without insurance on March 27, 2022.
Judge Hale sentenced her to pay a total of $200 in fees; to serve 12 months on probation on the paraphernalia charge.
She also sentenced Chapman to pay $100 in fees and to serve 30 days of probation, concurrently, on the marijuana charge.
On the license plate charge, Hale fined Chapman $25 and ordered her to pay a total of $77 in fees.
Adam J. Coleman, 36, of Coaldale, was charged by Coaldale Police Officer Todd Weiss with simple assault and harassment on Aug. 30, 2022.
Judge Hale sentenced him to pay a total of $200 in fees; submit a DNA sample and pay the $250 fee; undergo anger management and a drug and alcohol evaluation; and to serve 24 months on probation on the assault charge.
The harassment charge was dropped.
Devon Riddick-Dilliard, 28, of Lansford, Coaldale was charged by Police Officer Ryan H. Oldt with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on June 13, 2019.
Judge Hobbs revoked Riddick-Dilliard’s parole due to violations. He sentenced him to time served to 12 months in jail, with immediate parole, with credit for the 28 days already served, creating a maximum release date of Dec. 29, 2023.
