A nearly 7-hour standoff has ended in the Weatherly area.

Heavy police presence in the area of Route 93 between Quakake Road and Spring Mountain Road near Weatherly. The incident began about 7 a.m. Thursday when someone contacted police about a distraught man with a gun in the Packer Cemetery near St. Matthew’s Church off Quakake Road.

A Pennsylvania State Police special response team was called to the area.

The public was asked to avoid the area.
