Monroe driver facing DUI count

A Monroe County driver is facing a driving under the influence charge following an incident along the northeast extension of the turnpike in Kidder Township, Carbon County.

State police at the Pocono barracks said on Feb. 3 at 9:27 p.m. John Brady, 59, of Long Pond, driving a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, was stopped for speeding, going 102 mph in a 70 zone. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol and taken into custody. He was transported to the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital where he submitted to a blood test.

Troopers said the DUI charge is pending test results.
