Two pups rescued from Kidder motel

Two puppies stuck in a motel in Kidder Township have been rescued.

Tom Connors, director of the Carbon County Animal Shelter, said the German pinchers were rescued Tuesday at the Econo Lodge at 981 State Route 940 in White Haven.

“They were in the room three days after the owner was taken into custody and wouldn’t let anyone near them,” Connors said.

Connors said he believes the owner is from New Orleans and adopted the pups eight months ago and was working construction at the motel.

“The two pups stuck in the hotel were actually small,” he said. “Because they were scared, they were very nippy and the workers were afraid to handle them.”

Connors said the owner’s sister who lives out of state was concerned for their safety.

He said the rescue in New Orleans are getting a crew together to transport them back.

“All in all, it was a very easy rescue,” he said. “The pups are scared, but should be fine.”

Connors said they will posting their story on Facebook today.

“Hoping to find transportation to help the rescue in New Orleans get them home,” he said. “All in a days work.”
