A Northampton County man was sentenced to state prison last week in Carbon County court after pleading guilty to a drug-dealing charge.
Dillon S. Buskirk, 33, of Bath, was sentenced by Judge Joseph J. Matika to serve 18 to 36 months in a state correctional institution on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. On a charge of possession of a controlled substance he was sentenced to serve six to 36 months in a state prison, concurrent with the first count.
Buskirk is an inmate in the state prison at Camp Hill, Cumberland County, serving a two to five year term imposed by Lehigh and Northampton counties on driving under the influence charges. Matika ruled his sentence would run concurrent with the DUI sentences.
Buskirk was arrested on Sept. 12, 2020, by Lehighton police and members of the county drug task force. A controlled buy was set up with a confidential informant after which a search warrant was executed at a Bowmanstown address where illegal substances were found.
Matika also ordered Buskirk to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, render 100 hours of community service, supply a DNA sample and pay court costs of over $1,000.
