GIRLS BASKETBALL
Lehighton-Jim Thorpe
Mackenzie Yuhas’ 22-point performance sparked Jim Thorpe in a 41-36 Schuylkill League win over visiting Lehighton.
Yuhas posted nine of her game-high total in the fourth quarter for the Olympians (8-6, 4-5), who were 6-of-10 at the charity stripe. Sarah Hartman added eight points.
Olivia Serfass and Taylor Bowman both finished with 10 points for the Indians (4-12, 2-7).

Katelynn Barthold netted six of her game-high 16 points in the final frame for the Bulldogs (12-5, 8-4), while Aubrey Pollard chipped in with 11 points.
Allison Cart and Aubrey Peterson both recorded 10 points for the Panthers (6-9, 4-8).

Tamaqua earned its first Schuylkill League victory of the season by securing a 34-29 win over Pottsville.
Lorelei Plasha finished with a game-high 10 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for the Blue Raiders, who improved to 4-12 overall and 1-8 in the league.
Blum paced the Tides (4-11; 3-6) with nine points.

Ayla Schneck-Haines paced the Cardinals (9-5 overall; 6-3 SL) with a team-high 14 points. Lindsey Wolff and Kailen Felty both netted 12 points, while Kyla Koons added 11 points.
Maddison Maynard fired in a game-high 15 points for the Panthers (9-6; 4-5), while Morgan Orsulak scored nine points.

Schuylkill Haven rallied for a 30-20 victory over Weatherly.
The Wreckers jumped out early for a 12-3 lead that extended into the second period. But, the Hurricanes came back to tie it 18-18 in the third quarter and pulled away with trips to the foul line.
Anna Schaffer led the Hurricanes (6-9 overall; 2-6 SL) with 10 points.
Bethany Houser poured in a game-high 14 points for the Wreckers, who slip to 3-10 overall and 0-8 in the league.

Twelve different players scored for the Panthers (13-3 overall; 10-2 CL), but it was Jacob Albert that led the way with a game-high 14 points.
Nick Buskirk had 10 points to lead the Bulldogs (1-16; 1-11). Coy Daubert added nine.

Pottsville swept a Schuylkill League meet with Tamaqua.
The Tide prevailed for a 90-85 win in the girls meet, and posted a 91-87 victory in the boys competition.
Savannah Wilson (200 IM, 100 Free) and Stephen Behun (50, 100 Free) both had a pair of first-place finishes for Tamaqua.
Lexi Buchala (200 Free), Mia Jones (Diving), Gabby Blasko (500 Free) and Alex Zehner (500 Free) also recorded victories for the Blue Raiders.

A strong fourth quarter helped Lehighton come away with a 48-43 win over Jim Thorpe.
Talin Fairchild’s 24 points led the Indians, who outscored the Olympians 10-5 in the final period of a game that was tied at 38 entering the fourth quarter.
Pierce Gothard had 21 points for Jim Thorpe.
8TH GRADE
Sch. Haven-Panther Valley
Schuylkill Haven’s Allen Evans scored half of his team’s points in a 30-24 victory over Panther Valley.
The Panthers were led by Darian Revell’s eight points.
Panther Valley-Tamaqua
Jacob Denning controlled the boards and also led Tamaqua with 14 points in a 45-26 win over Panther Valley.
Quinn Coleman added 10 points for the Raiders.
Chase McArdle had 10 points to lead the Panthers.
7TH GRADE
Sch. Haven-Panther Valley
Tyler Hall drained a trio of three-pointers in the first quarter to help Panther Valley jump out to an early lead over Schuylkill Haven, and it never looked back in a 53-15 win.
Chase McArdle had game-high honors with 18 points, while Hall finished with 17.
For the Hurricanes, Brayden Diehl hit double figures with 11 points.
