Lehighton Police Department reported activity for the month of December:

• There was a total of 253 calls received.

• There were 99 miscellaneous calls, 31 of which were to assist citizens, 17 for alarms, 16 for mutual aid, nine each to assist ambulance and for parking complaints, seven to assist fire department, six for mental health, and four domestic complaints.

• There were 87 traffic citations, and 23 traffic warnings issued.

• There were 23 arrests made; nine of which were for DUI; three for simple assault; two each for harassment, narcotics possession, public drunkenness, and theft; and one each for indecent assault, credit card fraud and criminal mischief.

• There were eight parking citations and two prohibited tickets issued.

• There were 17 traffic accidents, 11 of which were non-injury, five hit-and-runs, and one traffic-related injury.
