Award-winning writer Rick Hansberry will attempt to capture the magic of selecting a perfect Christmas tree in his newest short film, “Branches,” the major segment of which will be filmed locally, it was announced today.

Hansberry and his crew will film the movie at the Crystal Spring Tree Farm in Mahoning Valley, having selected the local farm with director Chris Messineo during a visit in which the beautiful area scenery helped the farm owned and operated by the Botek Family win the selection process.

The film will be produced by Oscar’s Trailer, LLC, and will be available for Christmas.
