Kemmerer Jr. remains supervisors’ chairman in Franklin

Franklin Township will run under the same leadership this year.

Supervisor Fred Kemmerer Jr. was reappointed board chairman at Tuesday’s reorganization meeting.

Supervisor Robin Cressley was reappointed board vice chairman.

Other appointments:

• Brenda Cressley, secretary-treasurer.

• Nanovic Law Office, Thomas Nanovic, township solicitor.

• Robert Frycklund, zoning hearing board solicitor.

• Jason Doll, police chief.

• Kim Hunsicker, interim roadmaster and road foreman.

• Paul Jarrett, uniform construction code officers & assistant BOCA property maintenance code enforcement officers.

• Scott Bieber, sewage enforcement officer, and Steve Gitch and Ian Farrell, alternate sewage enforcement officer.

• Arro Consulting Inc., township engineer for sewage.

• Carbon Engineering Inc., township engineer for general purposes, with Keystone Consulting Engineers as the alternate.

• Larry Diehl, emergency management coordinator.

• Mathew Dorward, vacancy board member.

• Rod Mann, five-year term, planning commission.

• Kevin Strunk, three-year term, zoning hearing board.

• Fred Kemmerer Jr., representative to the Carbon County Council of Government, with Robin Cressley, as an alternate.

• Jason Doll, open records officer for police department.

• Brenda Cressley, open records officer for administration office, with Christine Green as alternate open records officer for administration office.

• Brenda Cressley, representative, and Christine Green, alternate representative, to the Carbon County Tax Committee for a one-year term.

• Willard Ahner, municipal authority member, five-year term.

• Jason Frey, representative, Carbon County Solid Waste Advisory Committee.

• Travis Hunsicker, Franklin Township Advisory Recreation and Parks Board, five-year term.

• Dennis Bauschspies, Canal Commission representative.

• Adopted a resolution to have Fred Kemmerer, Jr., as voting delegate to PSATS Annual Educational Conference, April 23-26 at Hershey.

• Adopted a resolution to have Fred Kemmerer Jr., as chief administrative official for police pension plan.

• Jim Thorpe Neighborhood Bank and PLGIT for checking, savings account.

• Set the limit of the treasurer’s bond at $500.

• Set the limit of bond for board of supervisors as trustees of the police pension plan at $500.

• Agreed to retain all present employees (employees in union as per contract in place).

• Set the wages of non-union and non-uniformed employees, full-time and part-time, 3% increase.

• Set travel allowance (IRS standard business mileage for 2023 is .65.5 cents per mile).

• Approved The Pohopoco Rod and Gun Club’s 2023 monthly meeting dates to be held the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Meetings are Jan. 11, Feb. 15, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, Aug. 16, Sept. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 20.

• Tabled the letter of request from the Lehighton Men’s Softball League to use Bunker Hill Ballfield for the 2023 season from April through September.
