State police at Lehighton

State police at Lehighton investigated the following cases:

• A 34-year-old Palmerton woman reported her identity was used to open a bank account.

Police said they were called to investigate the incident at 4:20 p.m. Dec. 16 to a property on Firehouse Road, Towamensing Township. Police said she did not sustain any loss.

• Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident that was reported to them at 8:29 a.m. Dec. 5.

They were called to Couch Circle, Ross Township, where a 65-year-old Saylorsburg man reported the incident.

• A 53-year-old Palmerton woman was charged with harassment by physical contact after a domestic incident at 10:26 a.m. Dec. 21.

It happened on Cornell Avenue, Lower Towamensing Township. The victim is 77-year-old man from Palmerton.

• A 36-year-old Barnesville woman is facing drug possession charges after state police at the Lehighton were summoned to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Carbon Campus, Mahoning Township, at 3:44 p.m. Dec. 16.

Police said they were called there for a patient in possession of drugs and upon arrival were informed by security personnel of the patient’s identity.

Police said it was discovered the patient has warrants out for her arrest.

Police said she was transferred to the hospital’s Salisbury Township campus and released before troopers being notified.

• A 45-year-old Philadelphia man reported a theft-by-deception incident.

Police said they were called at 8:23 a.m. Dec. 15 to a property on Lindberg Circle, Penn Forest Township, where the victim told them he pad $1,000 to a man to perform work on his home. Police said when no work was done, the victim requested a refund but the suspect denied the request.

• Police said they were called at noon Dec. 20 to Future Homes, Interchange Road, Lehighton. They were told a check was written for the business in the amount of $1,300 and was cashed by an unknown person.
