The Lehigh County Coroner’s office has released details about an 11-year-old boy who died from a gunshot wound Tuesday night.

The coroner said the incident occurred at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 600 block of N. Front Street, Allentown. The child was pronounced dead at 8:29 p.m.

The coroner responded to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest at 9 p.m. An autopsy will take place at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center on Friday. The cause and manner of death will be released after the autopsy.

In addition to the coroner’s office, this death is being investigated by the Allentown Police Department, with assistance from the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.

The child’s name is not being released at this time.
