Woman charged with firing gun at car with ex-boyfriend inside
A Saylorsburg woman has been charged with firing a gun at a vehicle with her ex-boyfriend inside during an incident in Monroe County.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Trooper Leo Petrucci of the state police at Lehighton barracks in the case against Laurie Little Rauch:
At 1:38 p.m. Dec. 4, troopers were dispatched to a report of shots fired at a home in the 2500 block of Upper Smith Gap, Ross Township.
The ex-boyfriend reported that he was invited to the residence to retrieve his motorcycle when a woman at the residence fired one round at him.
Troopers met with the man at the intersection of Upper Smith Gap Road and Mountain Road, at which time he reported that he and the woman, Little Rauch, 48, had dated for two months.
The man said he hadn’t seen Little Rauch in a month, and that earlier in the day, Little Rauch and her husband arrived at his residence to return some belongings.
While there, Little Rauch reportedly asked the man to get his motorcycle off her property, at which time the man arranged for someone to give him a ride to Little Rauch’s residence to retrieve the motorcycle.
The man stated that upon arriving at Little Rauch’s residence, she wasn’t home. He said that Little Rauch and her husband arrived a short time later, at which time the man exited the vehicle and observed Little Rauch waking toward him holding a firearm in her right hand and aiming it at his waist area.
The man said he retreated and entered the vehicle and told the driver to go because Little Rauch was going to shoot him, and then reported hearing a gunshot as they drove away, traveling east on Upper Smith Gap Road.
The man called 911 and told them that Little Rauch and her husband were still at the residence.
Troopers responded to Little Rauch’s residence where Rauch’s husband was on the front deck and Little Rauch came outside a short time later and spoke with Petrucci on the deck.
Little Rauch stated that she and the man were previously involved with each other while she and her husband were separated.
Little Rauch said she had been celebrating her birthday at the residence and consuming alcohol.
Little Rauch stated that the victim’s motorcycle was on her property and that she invited him to the residence to remove it, but that upon seeing the man at her residence, she did point her Hellcat 9 mm pistol at him.
Little Rauch said that she was standing in the middle of Upper Smith Gap Road when she fired one round at the vehicle the victim was riding in as it left the area.
Little Rauch faces charges on two counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, and recklessly endangering another person; along with one count of possessing instrument of crime with intent.
Little Rauch is free in lieu of $75,000 unsecured bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Feb. 24 before District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.
