No tax hike in 2023 in Rush Twp.

Rush Township residents won’t have to dig deeper into their pockets to pay their 2023 property tax bills.

The board recently adopted the township’s budget, and again drew the line on raising taxes.

The tax rate for general purposes will remain at 5.62 mills.

The budget sets the tax rate at 3.21 for general purposes and at 0.41 mills for the fire company and protection purposes. A half-mill is dedicated to land procurement and construction, and 1.50 mills will be used for street, sidewalk, water supply and infrastructure improvements.

Supervisors adopted the budget unanimously. It has been several years since the board raised taxes.

Trash collection, recycling and sewer bills will also remain the same.

The township office in Hometown will be closed Thursday, Friday and Monday for the Christmas holiday. It will also be closed Dec. 30 and Jan. 2 for the New Year’s holiday.

Trash and recycling dates and times will not change for the holidays.

The board will hold its reorganization meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 3.
