Slatington Borough Council
Slatington Borough Council took the following action on Monday:
• Announced that bids for the digester lid removal project are due by 10 a.m. Jan. 6; and bids for the AutoCon panel upgrades at the water filtration plant are due by 10 a.m. Dec. 28.
• Approved the professional services agreement with ARRO Consulting for $6,000.
• Tabled a motion to purchase an emergency generator for the maintenance building from BEI at a cost of $10,400 (not including exclusions), to be paid for with COVID-19 LFRF.
• Appointed Russ Hallman Jr., to the borough’s zoning hearing board. Council announced it still has one vacant seat to fill on the board.
• Approved a resolution providing for the appointment of ARRO Consulting as sewage enforcement officers for the borough.
• Approved a resolution establishing payments into the police pension fund by members for the year 2023.
• Approved a resolution appointing Campbell, Rappold & Yurasits as auditor for fiscal year 2022.
• Approved a resolution establishing borough fees and charges for borough services or for the use of borough facilities for fiscal year 2023.
• Approved a resolution appointing Elite Revenue Solutions to serve as the delinquent tax collector for the borough real estate tax 2022.
• Tabled a motion to participate in the PA Homeowners Assistance Fund.
• Agreed to hold electronic recycling events on April 1 and Oct. 21 from 9-11 a.m.
• Announced the remaining committee meetings that had been scheduled for this month will not be held in the spirit of the holiday season.
• Announced that council’s next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 9.
• Agreed to advertise the 2023 meeting schedule. Council will continue to meet at 7 p.m. on the second Monday of each month.
