Monroe County woman jailed following gun incident at her home

A Monroe County woman was jailed on Sunday following an incident involving a firearm at her residence.

State police at Lehighton troopers were dispatched to 2559 Upper Smith Gap Road in Ross Township at 1:38 p.m. for a report of shots fired.

On scene, a 59-year-old man from Bushkill reported that he arrived at his ex-girlfriend’s residence to retrieve his motorcycle.

Upon arrival Laurie Little Rauch, 48, of Saylorsburg, was present with her husband.

Rauch allegedly pointed a handgun at the man causing him to retreat to a waiting vehicle.

While the man and a friend were driving away from the scene Rauch fired one round at the rear of the vehicle. There were no reported injuries. A Springfield Armory Hellcat 9 mm handgun along with ammunition were seized from the scene.

Rauch was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and possession of instruments of crimes.

She was arraigned by on-call District Judge Paul Gasper, of Stroudsburg. She was unable to post $75,000 straight cash bail and was committed to the county prison in Snydersville.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.
