St. John’s Church, Mahoning Valley, celebrated 160 years of United Church of Christ and Lutheran congregational worship recently with a special service.

He congregation joined 11 guest ministers (former pastors of St. John’s) in singing hymns, while the guest speaker was the Rev. Kurt Grube, associate to the bishop, Northeast Synod of the ELCA.

Guest lectors were the Rev. Charles Kampmeyer and the Rev. Wilbur Albright. Rev. George Hein led prayers and the Rev. Thomas Irwin II, interim pastor, presided at Holy Communion.

Other clergy included the Revs. Dody Siegfried, Kathy Brearly, Jim Covert, David Knoebel, Nancy Kuhns, Valerie Reinhold and Manny Stivers.
