DUI charges in Schuylkill
Several Schuylkill County drivers are facing driving under the influence charges, state police at Schuylkill Haven said.
• On Oct. 30 at 2 a.m. troopers responded to a one-vehicle crash at the Mount Carbon Arch in Mount Carbon borough. Troopers said Emily M. Setlock, 25, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2019 Kia Optima eastbound and attempting to negotiate a left curve. Due to traveling too fast around the curve, the vehicle left the road on the right side and struck a concrete bridge support barrier causing disabling damages to the vehicle.
Setlock was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed.
Troopers said Setlock showed signs of impairment and is facing DUI charges.
• On Oct. 29 at 1:27 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop at East Hancock and North Second streets, in Saint Clair, of a 2021 Kia Forte. The driver, Eddie Adams, 43, of Mahanoy City, showed signs of impairment and was also found in possession of marijuana. Charges are pending.
• On Oct. 27 at 1:16 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop at Nichols Street and Terry Reiley Way n Pottsville, of a 2000 Ford Taurus. The driver, Kevin Weiser, 41, of Minersville, was found to be impaired and also in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Charges are pending.
• A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence after being involved in a two-vehicle crash at 6:21 a.m. on Nov. 9 along Route 61 in North Manheim Township.
Police said Scott E. Brenner, 63, of Pottsville, was southbound driving a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze when Kim L. Leininger, 53, of Schuylkill Haven, driving a 2009 Dodge Avenger, ran a red light from a jug handle and was attempting to make a left turn. Brenner was unable to avoid a collision with Leininger’s vehicle.
No one was injured. Both vehicles had to be towed
Troopers said Leininger was suspected of DUI of a controlled substance. Charges are pending.
