Marian Catholic names new advancement director

Marian Catholic High School announced the appointment of Dr. Erin Marek as the school’s new Director of Advancement.

Marek will lead the Advancement Office, which focuses on engaging the Marian community in support of the school through philanthropy and volunteerism. Advancement initiatives include growing and sustaining the annual fund (known as the “Marian Fund”), promoting awareness and soliciting gifts under the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit program, building the school’s endowment fund to provide ongoing tuition assistance to deserving families and overseeing alumni relations and engagement.

Marek joins the Marian community after many years of working as a physical therapist. She received her doctoral degree in physical therapy from Lebanon Valley College. Upon transitioning out of the medical field and into her new role, Marek has already made an impact on the Marian Catholic community.

“Erin hit the ground running, starting on her first day,”said Michael Brennan, head of school. “Her ability to relate to all age levels is critical when creating relationships with alumni, parents and friends, and her organizational skills from the medical field, have already shown in her work behind the scenes in the office. We are looking forward to some future events and publications you will see in the upcoming months out of our advancement program.”

Marek succeeds Kristina Evina, who accepted a position in the private sector.

“I am extremely humbled and excited to join the Marian Catholic High School family in this capacity,” Marek said.

“My husband and I are looking forward to providing the same opportunity to experience Marian that I have heard from so many alumni that I have met in my first weeks working at Marian. There are endless possibilities.”

She encouraged alumni to visit the school.

“I also ask our Marian family to continue to invest in our students, they are our future. Marian offers something that no other school in the area offers. If we want the world to be a better place, we need to invest in today’s students, supporting an academic, spiritual and social environment where our young people can grow and thrive.”

Marek is available daily at 570-467-3335, extension 115, or by email at emarek@mariancatholichs.org.
