Lehighton’s Mason Marchessault was named the co-MVP of the Schuylkill Boys Soccer League, and also earned one of the league’s All-State nominations. Marchessault shared the honor of co-MVP and an All-State nomination with Ryan Mundy of Blue Mountain.

Marchessault’s selection also highlighted a strong local contingent on the league’s all-star team that included five first team and seven second team picks.

The local all-stars included a trio of Marchessault’s Lehighton teammates – Matt Sofranko, AJ Light and Jaxson Strauss – on the Division 1 first team. They were joined by Jim Thorpe’s Ivan Turczeniuk and Dawson Meckes.

Area second team selections in Division 1 included Tamaqua’s Jacob Schlier and Cooper Ansbach; Jim Thorpe’s Noah Geiser and Jacob Geiser; and Lehighton’s and Levi Monk and Bryce Miller. Weatherly’s Trent Higgins was a Division 2 second team choice.

Lehighton’s Dave Yob was named Division 1 Coach of the Year.
