Trinity Happenings

First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton, begins at 5 p.m. Holy Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup. Gluten free wafers are available to those with allergy issues.

Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins 9:30 a.m. Masks are no longer required, however, if you are not fully vaccinated, you are encouraged to wear a mask covering the nose and mouth for your own protection and safety. In addition, wear a mask if you feel uneasy about being in a group setting.

Included during both worship times is “All Saints Remembrance.” You are invited to bring in photos of your loved ones who have died by Nov. 4. The photos will be displayed on a table near the altar as a visible reminder of the saints in our lives who have enriched us with their love, faith, or care.

Rev. Nancy L. Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows the worship service in Luther Hall.

Livestream audio is available at the church website (tlclehighton.com). Video with audio rebroadcasts available on the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/TrinityLehighton) later on Sunday mornings. Church phone: 610-377-4303.

Weekly Sunday Church School for students ages 3 though grade 6 begins at 10:45 a.m. Confirmation class for 7th and 8th grade students is at the same time. Classes will not meet Nov. 20 due to the annual congregational meeting.

The Food Pantry continues to be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting and precautionary measures in place. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pickup. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

Baptismal class will be held on the third Sunday at 1 p.m. Overview for prospective New Members is held on the fourth Sunday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Moore.

Looking ahead is the Trinity Praise Band playing for the final time on Nov. 13 at the 9:30 worship service. It will be the Final Farewell after 19 years of sharing their musical gifts. A luncheon (RSVP required) in their honor follows the worship service. Contact the church office or use the sign up sheet in narthex by Nov. 6.

A series of events are forming to celebrate Trinity’s 150th anniversary. A joyous worship service to mark the 150th anniversary is Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. NEPA Bishop Christopher deForest will be the preacher. A light supper will follow. Additional plans include commemorative T-shirts, family style covered dish dinner with games in February, youth-featured worship in March, Cantata in April, anniversary festival worship in June.
