I had written to Jarrett Coleman as well as to all Parkland School Board members during the height of COVID when it was a relatively new virus to the general population, urging them to protect our children and teachers from COVID by encouraging a mask mandate in our public schools.

I got a snarky answer from Jarrett Coleman in return in stark contrast to the kind replies I received from the other school board members. I have learned that Coleman is almost always the sole vote against school safety measures and that he has spoken out vehemently against mandatory COVID-19 restrictions and voting anti-public education and public-educators.

I would think the people in the 16th district would be disturbed by that fact since many in his district can’t afford private education for their children. Mark Pinsley, who plans to invest in better public education, is a much better choice for all as state senator for the 16th District.
