Panther Valley area residents got an “inside look” at the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company’s newest facility during an open house held at the companies service center in Coaldale on Saturday.
The center will serve nearly 35,000 customers in Carbon and Schuylkill counties.
The 12,000-square-foot, single-level building is located on a seven-acre tract along Route 209 and consolidates facilities for line crews and operating and construction personnel, as well as providing yard storage for equipment, materials and vehicles.
It was built at a cost of $360,000 and is part of PP & L’s overall $15-million building modernization program.
