Diaper Depot
Diaper Depot, the free diaper ministry at Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua, is accepting new clients for its Nov. 19 distribution.
You must be a resident of the Tamaqua Area School District and make a request at www.ziontamaqua.com by Nov. 1. Sorry, no requests can be accepted for November distribution after Nov. 1. You will be given an appointment time for the Nov. 19 distribution.
The first time you pick up diapers, you must present a birth certificate for the child or children and some type of proof of residence. Diapers are available for children up to age 4 sizes NB to 6 and pull-ups 2T-3T and 3T-4T. Diaper Depot is a community pantry of the Greater Philadelphia Diaper Bank.

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Pastor Ralph Saunders will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical Church, Lewistown Valley. There will also be a baby dedication. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Evening sing and praise at 6:30 p.m. with special guest, former state trooper Adam Heisler. Wednesday, Nov. 2 , 7 p.m. prayer meeting.
Have any items and filled Christmas shoe box ministry to the church by Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Chili Cook off
Chili Cook Off, Oct. 30, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at St, John Lutheran Church, Pine and Mauch Chunk streets, Tamaqua.
Open to the public for tasting of chili. There is a charge for tasting. Chili will also be served by the bowl and quart, Hot dogs, Guers Ice Tea and Lemonade will also be served. Eat in or Take Out.

Fresh, homemade 9-inch pies from Deppen’s Farm, Lykens can be ordered before Oct. 31. Delivery date in Nov. 9.

Andreas VFW Post 5069 will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. at West Penn Annex. A Veterans Day breakfast will be held on Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. at The Mason Jar. All paid up members and one guest are invited.
Veterans Day Parade
Tamaqua’s annual Veterans Day Parade will once again be hosted by the American Legion C .H. Berry Post 173 on Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. Staging will begin at 9 a.m. by the old Maff Motors Building on East Broad St. The Legion Honor Guard will fire a volley over the war memorial.
