The Pennsylvania State Police Troop M Bethlehem Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred on State Route 22 Eastbound, Whitehall Township, Lehigh County.

On Wednesday at approximately 3:15 p.m., troopers responded to the area of State Route 22 Eastbound, in the vicinity of MacArthur Road, Whitehall Township, Lehigh County for the report of a vehicle struck by gunfire.

It was determined a white Dodge Charger was traveling in the left lane of the highway when an unknown occupant in the right lane of travel shot at the vehicle striking the driver of the Charger.

The driver of the Dodge Charger was transported to the hospital with injuries.
