October 15, 1994 - Tamaqua freshman Beth Fulton wins two matches to advance to the semifinal round of the District 11 girls tennis singles tournament, held at the Westend Racquet Club in Allentown. Fulton, who improves her season mark to 12-0, defeats Allis Ottey of Bangor 6-0, 6-0 in the round of 16 before cruising to a 6-0, 6-1 decision over Saucon Valley’s Stevie Ochse in the quarterfinals. Fulton, coached by Paula Showers, will go on to finish third in the tournament.
