Celeste Robinson finished her stellar Jim Thorpe High School basketball career in 2012 with 1,699 points.

She was named both the Times News Girls Basketball Player of the Year and the Pottsville Herald-Republican Schuylkill League Player of the Year in 2012. Celeste was selected to the Class 3A All-State First Team in 2012, and was a nominee to the McDonald's All-American Girls' Basketball Team, the only athlete in school history to be nominated for that honor. She led the Schuylkill League in scoring with 637 points, averaging 24.5 points a game while scoring in double figures in every game her senior season, including a season-high of 36 points against Panther Valley.After graduation, Celeste enrolled at Millersville University and was All-PSAC Second Team in 2014. She had to take a medical redshirt in 2015, but returned in 2016 to be named to the All-PSAC First Team. Celeste finished her career at Millersville with 1,235 points and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. Although she received several invitations for tryouts to play overseas, Celeste decided to go to graduate school and is currently pursuing dual Master Degrees in Emergency Management and Social Work. She is the daughter of Gabriel and Paulette Robinson. The next few weeks will highlight the three remaining inductees in the Class of 2017 of the Jim Thorpe Area Sports Hall of Fame: Dr. Corey Cinicola, Dillon Smith and Kareem Mickens.The Jim Thorpe Area Sports Hall of Fame Annual Induction Banquet will be held on Saturday, August 19, at the Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall.
