Faith Alive Church
Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine Street, Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. At 8:30 a.m. is the contemporary service followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m., and then traditional service at 11 a.m. You can worship in person or in the parking lot by tuning the radio station to 104.3 FM or Facebook Live.
Every Wednesday at 7 p.m. is prayer and praise.
Events for October:
Oct. 18: The Quilt Group will meet at 10 a.m.
Oct. 16, 23, & 30: Impact Youth Group will meet at 7 p.m.
Oct. 19 & 26: Silver Sisters Exercise will met at 10 a.m. for easy exercise, fun, and worship songs. All women are invited.
Oct. 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. is a Soup Social Fundraiser. This event is open to the community. Hoping for 50 crocks of homemade soups to serve. We will be asking for a monetary donation at the soup social to benefit CACPAC (Christian Action Council of Palmerton Area Churches). They help the needy families in the Palmerton Area. A sign up sheet is available at the church or call the church office to attend the Soup Social.
October Missions:
Operation Christmas Child: This mission brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love.
ABC Food Pantry is available for those in need. Contact the church office if you are in a need of help or if you want to donate.
The Micah Meal Program serving the needs of needy students in the Palmerton School District. Check the church website with a list of food items we need.

JUCC
Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, holds Sunday Worship Service in the church grove at 10 a.m. Pastor Marion leads the worship.
You can also remain in your vehicle in the parking lot and listen to the service on radio station 95.5 or watch live on Facebook. The service is also posted on the website after the service.
Donations for Operation Christmas Child do not have to be put in a shoe box, you can just donate the items. If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, you can drop a check or envelope in the offering plate and mark it OCC. Examples of some acceptable items are small notebooks, crayons, pencils, balls, socks, personal care items, small stuffed animals. Please no food-type items, used items, war-related items, liquids or lotions. The deadline to donate is Nov. 6.
Holiday Filling sale
Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, will be selling containers of homemade filling.

The last day to order is Nov. 5. Pick up at the church on Nov. 19 from noon to 3 p.m. or Nov. 20 after the church service between 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Holy Trinity Lutheran
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton will hold worship on Sunday at 10:15 a.m. If you plan to attend, call the church office at 610-826-2525.
It you are unable to attend in person, you may join on Zoom. Communion will be served. Please remember to bring food items for the food pantry.
Bible Study is in Fellowship Hall on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.
Helpers will be needed to help on Trick or Treat night to help hand the treats to the children.
Participants sought
The Palmerton Veterans Day Parade Committee is issuing a call for floats, vendors, and participants for the 50th annual Carbon County Veterans Day Parade to be held in Palmerton Nov. 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. with a rain date of Nov. 13.

Trick or Treat
Trick or Treat in the Palmerton borough on Oct. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. If you would like to participate in this fun event, please have your porch light on.
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton will have its doors open for Trick or Treat fun.
Halloween Parade
The Palmerton Halloween Parade is Oct. 16 at 4 p.m. and forming at 2:30 p.m. Rain date is Oct. 17 at 7 p.m., forming at 6 p.m.
Towamensing PTO
The 27th Annual Towamensing PTO Craft Fair & Basket Social will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Towamensing Elementary School, 7920 Interchange Road, Lehighton.
They will be host to more than 40 crafters and vendors, a basket social with close to 100 baskets to choose from, food sale, and bake sale.
Proceeds benefit the Towamensing Elementary students.
Halloween Activity
The FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) will be holding a Halloween event for children 0 to 11 years of age at the Palmerton High School from 4 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 27. Will hold Halloween activities, games, and much more. Cost is $5 per child.
Pajama Drive
Bethany Wesleyan Church, 457 Delaware Ave., Palmerton is participating in a pajama drive for children 0-17 years old to benefit children in the Foster Care System.
Rehoboth, BWC’s new Foster Care Ministry is hosting this drive. The Pajama Drive is one way to make a practical yet meaningful impact on children’s lives.
You can drop off the pajamas between now and Oct. 23.
Train Meet
The Carbon Model Railroad Society is sponsoring its Fall Train Meet on Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meet will be held at the Diamond Fire Co. Bingo Hall.
The Hall is located at 120 Main St., Walnutport. This is a model railroad, toy train and railroadiana sale for the serious and amateur railroad and model train collector.
Refreshments are available. Plenty of free parking. Admission. Bring your entire family.
Palmerton Library
The Palmerton Area Library will be closed, Oct. 22.
Third Monday Book Club
The Third Monday Book Club will meet on Oct. 17 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. to discuss the book “The Judge’s List” by John Grishan.
The November book will be “Oil and Marble” by Stephanie Storey. The December book will be “A Dangerous Mourning” by Anne Perry.
The group meets the third Monday of each month.
12th Annual Scarecrow Display
