Trinity Happenings
Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 South 3rd St., Lehighton, starts at 9:30 a.m. Gluten free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. Masks are optional. Rev. Nancy L. Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows the worship service in Luther Hall.

Weekly Sunday Church School for students ages 3 though grade 6 is at 10:45 a.m. Confirmation class for 7th and 8th grade students is at the same time.
The Trinity Thrift Store is open without reservations. Shopping and drop-off hours are Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours, limited to five bags or boxes. The food pantry continues to be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting and precautionary measures in place. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up.
To schedule a baptism or seek membership at Trinity, contact the church office to register in advance for the instruction sessions. Baptismal class will be held on the third Sunday at 1 p.m. Overview for prospective new members is on the fourth Sunday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Moore.
Trinity Lutheran Church was organized Dec. 1, 1872. The cornerstone for the church building was laid June 1, 1873. A series of events are forming to celebrate the milestones. A worship service to mark the anniversary is Dec. 4, at 3 p.m. Northeast Pennsylvania Bishop Christopher deForest will be the preacher. A planning meeting is at 12:15 p.m. Oct. 16 in the conference room.
