Pleasant Valley’s field hockey team and Northwestern’s volleyball squad both posted wins on Friday.
The Bears blanked Bethlehem Catholic, while the Tigers swept Allen.
FIELD HOCKEY
Pleasant Vy.-Becahi
Heather Todaro scored two goals and added an assist to help Pleasant Valley roll to a 6-0 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Bethlehem Catholic.
Molly Sobers added a goal and an assists, while both Matti Hyland and Sydney Jeker finished with a pair of assists.
The Bears also received goals from Anayah Accilien, Liz Gouger and Mykaila Colandino.
PV, which improved to 5-10-1, outshot Becahi by a 24-1 margin.
VOLLEYBALL
Allen-Northwestern
Jenna Breininger had 12 kills and two aces to help Northwestern sweep Allen in a non-league match.
The Tigers also received 22 assists and 10 digs from Shannon Green, while Kylie Nagle contributed 12 digs and eight aces.
The win upped Northwestern’s record to 12-4.
BOYS SOCCER
Tamaqua-Blue Mtn.
Ryan Mundy’s five goals and an assist led Blue Mountain to a 7-0 Schuylkill League win over Tamaqua Thursday.
The Eagles (12-3) also received goals from Robert Antonini and Cael Rickard.
Jonathan Ulicny made 11 saves for the Raiders (4-11).
